Michael Huber - President
and Co-Founder

Michael's work experience started while in Jr. High.  He served as a Radioman in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970.  He went on to work for 39 more years managing customer service, inventory, distribution, and sales. He retired in 2009 as a Regional Sales Manager for Shaw Industries, after 33 years with this fortune 250 company.  In the 70's he also enjoyed part-time work in Radio and TV broadcasting.  Michael now oversees all aspects of Take Action INC.

Janet Huber - Vice President
and Co-Founder

Janet earned a MA in Organizational Management and was Dean of Students at Heald College in Portland, Oregon for a number of years.  She also taught business management classes at Heald College and Warner Pacific College.  Janet retired in 2010 and worked alongside Michael raising funds, conducting food drives and building school relationships for Take Actin INC.  She serves as the primary contact with each of the schools we serve and among many other duties, manages food order entry.  

Marjorie Miyasako - Director of Grants and Schools

Marjorie completed a Dietetic Internship at OHSU in Portland, OR.  She worked for 2 years as a registered dietitian at Kaiser Permanente in Portland and Mt. Diablo Medical Center in Concord, CA.  She also has a B.S. in Computer Science and worked for Unisys Corporation for one year as a contractor to the Bonneville Power Administration.  Recently, she worked at PharMerica as a Medical Records Associate.  She is currently retired.  Majorie Joined our Board in June 2014. She guides TAI to where the greatest needs are and spends a great deal of time securing grants.  

James Raish

Jim has a BS in Accounting from the University of South Dakota.  He was a ROTC Program Officer  two years active duty and four years reserves.  He earned a CPA certificate and worked for eight years at Ernst & Young, then for four years as controller for a real estate corporation.  He was with Delap CPA, one of Portland, Oregon's largest local accounting firms for twenty-eight years.  He was a Partner there for over twenty years.  He was a Partner in Charge of Accounting & Auditing and Quality Control & Reporting including SEC Client base.  He had an Oregon Municipal Auditor's license and was a member of Oregon Society of CPA's Peer Review Committee.  He is now retired.  He joined TAI in June of 2014  Jim provides Take Action INC with in-depth financial tracking and data reporting in all facets of what we do.    

Carolyn Arntson - Special Projects and Volunteer Coordinator

Carolyn has been retired since selling her Portland, Oregon fire equipment/first aid company in 2000.  As CEO of Carbon Dioxide Inc she was on the Portland Chamber of Commerce Board and was one of the first female Vice Presidents of the Chamber.  Carolyn has been on a number of other civic boards/committees including Rafael House (for abused women and children) where she Chaired large fund raising events.  She volunteered at the Oregon Food Bank for a number of years in the Special Events area and has volunteered in the classroom at Catlin Gable School.  She was also a candidate for the Oregon State Senate in 1984.  Carolyn has been a supporter of TAI for a number of years and has volunteered several times. 

 In December of 2018 Carolyn became our first Volunteer Staff Member.  She is passionate about the plight of hungry children who need food to live and learn.
